Can I change my device and still access my Vault contents?

For archived posts:

Everything that happens in Jumbo is stored on your device, within the app - we've built it this way to protect your private data. This means if you delete the Jumbo app, all of the information inside of it will be deleted as well, including your archived posts.

If you would like to create a backup of these posts, we offer the option for our iOS users to export their archives to Dropbox or iCloud.

You can enable iCloud and Dropbox using the following steps:

  1. Open the Jumbo app
  2. Tap the icon of the service that you would like to enable iCloud and Dropbox export for (ex. Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
  3. Tap Archive Posts
  4. Tap Choose Backup Location
  5. Tap the toggle next to iCloud and/or Dropbox so they're green (ON). You can enable one or both - it's up to you!
  6. Tap Review
  7. Review your archive settings and if everything looks good tap Delete and Backup
  8. Even if you already have posts in your Jumbo Vault, this will transfer them over to your selected export location.

A local export option is available for our Android users with export to Dropbox and Google Drive planned soon!

You can enable Android local export using the following steps:

  1. Open the Jumbo app
  2. Tap the Vault icon
  3. In your Vault, tap the icon of the service with the posts you would like to export
  4. Tap Export in the upper righthand corner

For 2FA codes:

If you activated 2-factor authentication on your account through Jumbo then we've included a way to reinstate your code generators for accounts should you change or lose your device.

Here is how this works: when you set up 2FA for your apps through Jumbo, the code-generators are connected to your iCloud Keychain (for iOS users) and Google drive (for Android users) to prevent you from getting entirely locked out. Here is how to re-instate these generators.

  1. On your iOS Settings app, log into the same iCloud account that you used to first setup 2FA
  2. Download the Jumbo app
  3. Complete the onboarding in Jumbo and open the Vault tab
  4. Your 2FA code generators will be there in the Vault tab!

  1. Download the Jumbo app
  2. Complete the onboarding in Jumbo and open the Vault tab
  3. You will see a prompt there asking you to connect Google Drive to access your 2FA codes!
  4. Connect the same Google Drive account that you used when you first setup 2FA
  5. You will see your code generators there in the Vault tab!
